The free font named Trilby Font Family is cool and vintage styled, having thick lettered slab serif. This genre is characterized by its backwards arrangement of thicks and thins: whereas typical style has high verticals, or vertical stems, they are weak here and thick horizontals and serifs establish railroad track across the pages. Its subtlety is also one of its biggest strengths as it becomes quite flexible to use. While most reversed stress faces-type banners can accommodate only a few words at the most on the poster, Trilby can set the stress for the whole of a paragraph.
It’s less boring and more adorable than just the usual shape of a slab and, while it is not revolutionary enough to be considered just a novelty, it is an entirely utilitarian contemporary design object with cute, sarcastic humor.
