I Love NY is a graphic design which has become the trademark of love and pride in the state of New York. Milton Glaser, a graphic designer, designed it in the year 1977 during a marketing campaign done by the department of economic development of the state of New York. The three characters within the font are rather similar to the American Typewriter, which is a rounded slab, serif typeface developed in 1974 by Joel Kaden and Tony Stan.
