Goodfellas, a film directed by Martin Scorsese’s master in crime fiction and 1990 product of Warner Bros Pictures. The film is ranked No. 15 in the highest-grossing movies of all time on the IMDb website and is also named by British magazine Total Movie as the best movie of all time.

The American Film Institute has also named Goodfellas the Second Top Gangster Movie in the Aftermath of the Godfather.

The film is based on a book by crime writer Nicholas Pilgie called Wise Guy. The book is based on the real-life story of former gangster Henry Hill and FBI reporters. Scorsese in “Goodfellas”, along with the glorification of the gangsters’ outward appearance displays a mockery of their personality with their amusement. In this way, he achieves a very personal tone and in many cases an abstract expression of gangsters.
