Commissioner Font Family to be both a static and a variable sans typeface. A family includes three major “voices” within it. The common type is a grotesque with straight stems. When the flare axis expands, the straight grotesque terminals swell and form glyphic serifs and joints are made more irregular. The volume axis changes the glyphic serifs to wedge-like points.
Authors can choose between Thin, Black and italic styles when including a Commissioner’s voice. Textures, warmth and appeal in type are enhanced by a mix of lowercase and capital letters which can be delicate in small type but exude much more character when used in larger sizes.
