Calibre Sans Font Family is a neo-grotesk sans serif that was inspired by West Berlin street sign lettering. Contrasting with most engineered signage lettering, these fonts are beautiful yet simple; Calibre softly tempers engineers’ geometric tendencies by applying optical correction principles used for optical correction. Many sanserif letters fall into multiple subgenres due to a few key letterforms being included within them defining that subgenre’s look;
Calibre borrows this logic from Nebiolo’s Recta to achieve an edgy contemporary look; created in collaboration with Metric but differs in finishing of key letters for each subgenre’s look; Metric and Calibre share geometric structures but differs in finishing options for key letters among them both designs for optical correction purposes.
