Beatrice Font is a geometric-based sans serif family of typefaces designed for exploration of contrast methods that combine elements from canon expansionist systems with inverted contrast and grotesk behavior. We dissected this method and built our system around it. Beatrice debuted as a font in 2018, yet remains relatively undiscovered today.
Built on American Gothic’s tight-not touching spacing model and using tight-not touching spacing between lines, Beatrice boasts four optical sizes for robust weight sets across its superfamily. Our classic Display cut offers maximum contrast; use our standard cut for high function yet low contrast applications; our latest additions, Headline and Deck cuts are seamless transitions between our original two sizes for more comprehensive applications.
