Antique Olive Font was produced by French Type Foundry Olive in 1962-1966 and designed by poster designer Roger Excoffon (b. 1910, died 1983). Excoffon created elegant yet striking fonts like Banco, Mistral, and Calypso which rival Helvetica; Antique Olive was launched to compete against Helvetica yet its distinctive shapes made an impactful statement about his vision of an elegant Sans Serif font, making it suitable for posters or display materials of large sizes.
