American Capitan is a Six Font Family with full character sets for Cyrillic characters, Greek, Hebrew, and Central European languages as well as features for fractions, small caps, stylized sets, and glyph replacements – as described here. Here is another set of descriptions: My traditional mind suggests I use words such as bold and narrow, heavy and tall when discussing typefaces.
However, my creative brain believes more nuanced description would be warranted. Why explain something you could see yourself when the person reading may have no clue of its history. Not many are aware that the Futura typeface dates back to at least the 1940s, having been modified over time by generations of sign writers, hand letterers, and type-guys who couldn’t let go.
