NSU was originally established to manufacture knitters in 1873. Since then, their product range has expanded into producing bicycles, motorbikes and eventually cars under their Audi brand. Based in Neckarsulm in Germany and an early pioneer of automobile production.
NSU is widely admired for their pioneering designs of rotary engines and production of the first mass-market automobile with such an engine, the NSU Ro 80. To commemorate their achievements, their logo uses “Neue Plak Compressed Bold,” from Monotype’s Neue Plak Font Family which was designed by Paul Renner, Linda Hintz and Toshi Omagari and published with 60 styles available to choose from.
