Churchward Typeface was created by Joseph Churchward in 2002 as a sans serif font. Under exclusive license from him, Bluehead Studio has digitalized his original drawings to produce this typeface; filling any missing glyphs while maintaining his classic Churchward aesthetic. Joseph intended for this to be a six weight family; we enhanced its functionality by including small caps and 10-degree obliques in every weight.
Churchward Typestyle now comes in 12 weights – from Light to Ultra Bold – making it suitable for many different applications from print and text to posters, billboards, and displays. Joseph Churchward loved ink traps; so you may notice them more prominently at heavier weights.
