Tabac Slab Font Family – Initially, characters were designed in the heavily bold and massive typeface, while thin curves and italics provide modern and diverse family of fonts. Serifs help with differentiation of letters in inclined plan and in long texts; ‘kinemes’, or drawn small details come into their own at sizes of twenty-four points and above. Our Slab was developed from Tabac Sans, and which creates a harmonic pair with its sibling Egyptienne.
The bracket-less serifs made the typeface more massive and reinforced on the lines, solving the problem of excessive expressiveness of grotesque fonts for all those typographers, who like to scold for this feature.
