Avantt Font Family is modern fonts that include a fresh and clean geometric style. Avantt was first developed as the specific typeface for the signage and brand at Bubenská 1, the recently renovated office building in Prague. This building was designed functionalistic ally by Architects Adolf Benš and Josef Kříž in the period between 1927 and 1935. It references architecture and history by having basis in architecture and history and extends that with the semiotics of graphic design referencing Ladislav Sutnar architectural works, Adolf Loos and bauhaus. Avantt, the new packaged retail version differs somewhat from the original no longer so bespoke but has the key essentials.
It is important to note that the shape of several glyphs was inspired by the appearance of stairway bannisters or railings. The ligatures mentioned, along with some others, are grouped under the OpenType feature called ‘Titling Alternates’, and add letter width variation and subtle change of the mood in the headlines and texts.
